Words cannot express how angry I am for missing this. It sounds like it was a fantastic production and a great adaptation of one of my favorite books. I hate that I found out about it a year later. I need to keep up with my West End shows.
“I should be Adam. God was proud of Adam. But Satan’s the one I sympathize with. For I was cast out, like Satan, though I did no wrong. And when I see others content, I feel the bile rise in my throat, and it tastes like Satan’s bile…”
On Wednesday night PBS did a live airing of the Broadway production South Pacific. It was FANTASTIC. I am so upset that I’m not going to get a chance to see it at Lincoln Center, but the telecast was still wonderful. South Pacific has one of my favorite overtures -Gypsy and West Side Story are up there as well.
Oh, musical theatre! You have my heart!
